BEHIND CROSSING

It started by changing a program.

My first computer was a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. It was where I learned BASIC and discovered that a program could also be an invitation to change things.

There were games loaded from cassette, games someone copied for me, and lines of code I wanted to touch. I remember changing a game's behavior: a situation that normally took lives away could give them back instead. The rules were written down. And they could be changed.

Decades of programming and building products followed. SourcingUp, CommerceUp and plenty of new questions. In 2026, I revisited that early experience with BASIC. It led to another question: How would it feel to code a game like that old frog-crossing-cars game today?

CROSSING grew from that question. Its character, graphics, sounds and world were created for this experiment.
